About Lake George:

Lake George is very well-know for it's Six Flags - Great Escape adventure park, however, there are so many activities that are just as exciting! Just visiting the beautiful lake is enough to take your breath away, grab some food and hangout at one of the benches and watch the water and the nature that surrounds you. In the fall, make sure to go and check out the foliage - you definitely won't miss it because it's EVERYWHERE! Literally. On top of that, the Village is jam-packed with delicious food and adorable shops, among them is our favorite - Lake George Mermaids - and yes, we may be a little biased.
Things to do:
1. Lake George Expedition Park - A great day-time activity for the whole fam! With plans to re-open safely for the 2021 Spring season, there is so much to do here. In the Magic Forrest, you can experience the nostalgia of Lake George's history and hop on a variety of fun rides. Check out shows and their kid-friendly amusement parks. In the Dino Roar Valley, be a part of the interactive expedition of digging up fossils, seeing dino nests, and a life-size dinosaur trail!
2. Ride the Minne-ha-ha - Experience the lake up-close and personal with a ride on the Minne-ha-ha. Hear it's steam whistle and watch the paddle wheel tread through the waves. Minne-ha-ha is the only stern wheel paddle boat to have sailed Lake George. Take a short cruise through the lake to see gorgeous views, other boaters, and even people parasailing (which is an activity you could also checkout in the summertime)!
3. Six Flags - Great Escape and Waterpark - Plan a fun day with the kiddos at the Great Escape Adventure and Waterpark! With plans to re-open in 2021, there is something for everyone. Before it became part of the Six Flags parks, Great Escape was called Storytown featuring different interactive attractions telling fairytales like Alice in Wonderland and Little Red Riding Hood. These original attractions still stand among wild rollercoasters such as The Steamin' Demon and the Comet.
4. Fort William Henry Museum - Take a look back in time at this Historic Attraction located right across from the lake! Experience this 1757 outpost in defense of the British Colonies against the French. Guided tours or provided to see the outpost, or just take a walk through the grounds on your own. Visit their website for more details about hours and tickets to start planning your trip!
